Born in 1952, Genoa.

Scientific high school and architectural studies. Graphic designer, advertiser, designer, development technician, adventure park designer and interior designer since 1975. Always a wood hobbyist.

The pipe. The first attempts since 1965 with a father's pipe. In the mid-70s, the meeting with a tobacconist who knew how to provide excellent advice allowed me to obtain satisfaction from pipe smoking and to appreciate handcrafted pipes. In the 80s the first plaques given by a Genoese pipemaker (he gave me those, not the advice) and the first self-taught experiments. In 1989 in Genoa I won a cup at the pipemaker championship which took place in parallel with the international slow smoking trophy.

In 2007 I left the city to live in a small village in Gavi, surrounded by nature.

In 2012, after the experience with the adventure parks, the question was asked: why don't I make a pipe, then another, then another. At this point I want to make it my job. I set up a laboratory in the barn with some equipment.

In 2013 in Cagli I met Bruto Sordini, Tonino Jacono and other pipemakers, who gave me criticism and good advice. The following year I met Cris Asteriou and then Davide Iafisco made me work with him.

I like to make pipes that are pleasant to smoke, to hold and to look at. I interpret classical and non-classical forms. 

I know Radice's reverse calabashes and I'm starting to make some, trying to make them resemble classic shapes, both curved and straight.

Lately, a physical intuition and its experimentation have led me to drill the stem lower so that the hole is in the center of the bowl and it is easier to smoke the tobacco all the way through. 

The mouthpieces are made entirely by hand, obtained from the best German ebonite bar. The pipes are numbered progressively and by year of production.

Lastly, the briar is first choice Tuscan briar. Every year I produce 100/150 pipes.
